The Lamia Harlot Speaks!

Mostly grabbing this stuff here. As well--tumblr keeps appearing in way too many of my social networks as a potential option, Personally I prefer posterise for its features--but, well... I suppose Tumblr is worth checking out. As looking around Posterise appears to be a copy cat of sorts o.o'

clientsfromhell:

Client: “We really love the design! However, can you make our website less cutting-edge? Our clients aren’t really that good at using the Internet and won’t use all of the bells-and-whistles.”

Me: “What are you referring to specifically?”

Client: “We don’t need the login area. None of our customers will use that.”

Me: “OK, well it is an e-commerce store so I’m not quite sure how you’re going to get paid without being able to identify the client.”

Client: “Well, you’re the designer and you’ve done a great job so far so I’m sure you can figure something out. Look at Google! You don’t have to login to their site and they’re making tons of money!”

Right—point him to the tools for Adsense and Adwords. The very tools that Google makes the bulk of their money with. I will guarantee that you need to log into the site to make use of that.

The paying clients, yes, will need to log in. The nonpaying customers will not log in to Google.

Though, then you run into the issue of explaining that only about 0.3% of ads have a click through rate high enough to make any form of income (and that it is the ad networks themselves that make most of the money in these setups).
